Our Vision
A church that loves God, loves people, and makes disciples.
Our Mission
Connect, equip, mentor, and release disciples who make disciples.

Values are important to keep us on the right track. Every church has its own values for the community to help cultivate culture and act as a guiding principle. We’ve narrowed down 5 we value most.

Love in action. See the need, meet the need, every time.

Iron sharpens iron. We stay honest, stay humble, grow together.

We live holy lives for a holy God.

First-class effort in all we do for God and people.

Serving is our privilege, not our chore.
We are a church under the covering of the Assemblies of God Malaysia in which our main pastor, Rev Gideon Lee sits as part of the 2021-2023 committee. Our core beliefs can be found in accordance to AOG’s Statement of Fundamental Beliefs. For the statement, kindly click here.

From a humble gathering of just a few believers in 1964, Glad Tidings Assembly has grown into a vibrant church in Klang. Our journey is a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the obedience of His people.
In 1964, a young Bible school student, Sister Petrina Giaw, obeyed God’s call and came to Klang. With faith and courage, she began ministering to just two or three believers in the back room of a small shophouse on Jalan Meru.
The following year, Sister Petrina graduated from the Bible Institute with a Diploma in Biblical Studies. At only 22 years old, she became the pioneering pastor of Glad Tidings Chapel, Klang, while also serving as a full-time teacher at La Salle School to support the ministry financially.
In 1966, Pastor Petrina married Prince Guneratnam, a fellow Bible school graduate. Together, they became the first pastors of Glad Tidings Assembly, Klang. That same year, the church moved to a rented house at No. 28, Jalan Satu, Taman Eng Ann, which seated about fifty people. As the congregation grew, even the porch was used for worship. For the next six years, this little house became the church’s spiritual home.
In January 1970, the General Council of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia officially recognized Glad Tidings Assembly as an affiliate. The first church board was elected, and membership grew from 30 to 70.
Soon, the church moved again—to No. 83C, Jalan Batu Tiga.
When Pastor Prince moved to Singapore in 1971, Pastor Patrick Lau from Singapore was invited to lead the congregation. Together with Pastor Andrew Ong, the church grew to around 100 members by 1976.
God placed a vision in the hearts of the leaders: to build a permanent church home. Members worked tirelessly to raise funds—through jumble sales, selling durians, letterboxes, and more.
On April 15, 1975, the church purchased the land at No. 210, Jalan Meru—where we stand today—for RM178,000.00. By God’s grace and the generosity of members, the final payment was made on 29 June 1978.
The property came with an old colonial-style bungalow, which became the temporary church building. In 1980, the church applied for approval to build a new sanctuary. After much prayer and perseverance, final approval was granted on 8 January 1985.
Under Pastor Dominic’s leadership, building plans moved forward. An architect was appointed, and on 1 October 1987, the Town Council granted approval to begin construction.
18 October 1987: Piling work began.
2 January 1988: The building contract was awarded.
This was a RM1.2 million project, fully funded by God’s miraculous provision through His people. During construction, services were held at Chi Liung Plaza (16th floor), while Sunday School and the church office remained in the old building.
On this historic day, the new church building was officially dedicated to the Lord.
At the dedication service, Rev. Prince Guneratnam, then General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia, reminded the congregation:
“Beautiful buildings do not make great churches — but obedient people do.”
Now, 60 years after our first service and 54 years after our official recognition, we continue to celebrate the unfailing faithfulness of God.
It is He who provided every resource, opened every door, and led His people step by step. The sanctuary at Jalan Meru stands today as a majestic landmark in Klang—a lasting testimony to the grace, glory, and goodness of our Lord Jesus Christ.
